We're Sama and Jacqueline, two East Bay girls who spent five years in New York watching each other come alive in an environment where creativity was just... accessible.
Free events on every corner. Studios you could walk to. A room full of people who made things and wanted to talk about it after. We didn't realize how rare that was until we came back.
The Bay Area is full of creative minds. We know, we grew up here, and the talent has always been here. But somewhere between the cost of living, the car culture, and the tech monoculture that quietly absorbed everything else, the infrastructure for creative community got thin. The events dried up. The spaces closed. The makers stayed home.
We came back with five years of bicoastal experience, a deep love for this place, and a quiet frustration we couldn't shake: where is everyone gathering?
So we decided to stop asking and start building.

Coqtail Hour is a pop-up creative community reclaiming the hours after five.
We host intimate evening events across the SF Bay Area: art trades, skill-sharing workshops, show-and-tell nights, conversations and gatherings where creative people can actually meet each other.
No networking energy. No side hustle agenda. No velvet rope.
Just a room, a reason to show up, and the people who show up.
✧ what we believe
You don't have to move to a creative city to have a creative life. The city doesn't give you your creative identity, the community does. And community is something you build deliberately, starting small and local, by showing up again and again until the room starts to feel like yours.
That's what we're doing.
